Park Springs Christian Camp & Retreat Center Assists Those Planning Events and Retreats

Park Springs Christian Camp & Retreat Center welcomed area church leaders, youth pastors, nonprofit representatives, and members of the Cedar Grove Association for a wonderful Open House on Sunday, April 27. The afternoon event introduced guests to one of Caswell County’s hidden gems — a peaceful and versatile retreat property that often local residents are surprised to discover exists right here in their own community.

Guests enjoyed a sponsored meal from Holy Smokes BBQ while viewing a slideshow highlighting ways the camp is already serving the region. Presentations from EPIC Caswell with Carmen Graves, the Caswell County Education Collaborative by Melanie Gibson, Caswell County Homeschoolers by Abriel Stowe, and family camping experiences helped bring the property’s mission to life. Attendees also heard stories from families and organizations who used the camp to create meaningful memories and impactful programs.

County Outreach Ministry representatives Paul and Alice Robinson also shared their insights during the program, highlighting the importance of partnerships that help serve local families and strengthen the community. Remarks sparked questions and meaningful discussion among attendees. Several guests shared fond memories of their own children attending camp programs through the years, reflecting on the lasting impact Park Springs has had on generations of Caswell County families.

Tours of the grounds showcased the camp’s many amenities, including a climbing wall, zipline, fishing area, spacious cabins that can sleep over 150 guests, cafeteria facilities, meeting areas, and open recreational spaces. The property offers an ideal setting for day camps, youth retreats, church gatherings, leadership retreats, board meetings, family reunions, day camps, and special events of all kinds.

Park Springs Camp, once owned by its (and Park Springs Road) namesake, T.H Parks in the late 1800’s was known the region as a place to take in the natural springs with their healing qualities.  It changed hands several times, but in 1938, the Danville Kiwanis Club purchased the camps as a treasured gathering place. Today, the camp is owned and operated by Piedmont Christian Assembly, a partnership of churches based in King, North Carolina. Their primary mission is to provide summer camp opportunities for member churches, while also making the facility available to outside churches, nonprofits, and community groups seeking a quality retreat location.

In addition, Park Springs currently has an opening for a Camp Director, and the Piedmont Christian Assembly board welcomes conversations with interested candidates who feel called to lead this special ministry.

With on-site staff available to assist groups in planning events and retreats, Park Springs Christian Camp & Retreat Center continues to grow as a valuable resource for the region.  If you are interested in reserving the camp call 336-793-0130.
